Earlier this year, we introduced the Insanity Workout, a challenging fitness program on DVD, and a set of discs for our readers. Condition: test the workout and say what's up. Marc Dobler had won and already described us here in the blog his first impressions . After six weeks of fitness insanity with insanity, his conclusion follows.
So, the 60 days of Insanity program are over and I ask myself, where is my washboard stomach? 😀

He was promised neither in the short instruction, nor in the video itself, but the abdominal muscles of the participants of both sexes in the videos aroused a certain expectation. Maybe I should have tried all the recipes in the accompanying cookbook?

So the washboard stomach did not come out, how about my fitness? The stamina has improved. During the interim run, I noticed an increase in performance when I sprinkled some intervals during the 10K run. Before, these tempo strikes made a lot more work for me, now I'm a little more spritziger and can put on the pace or easier catch up with faster runners. In the upper body, I have gained some strength as well. However, the program is not a strength training and therefore I have to buy any new shirts.
Why running training? Was this part of the program? No, that did not belong to it, everything could be completed in the own four walls. However, since I attended the local running meeting at least once a week before the program, I lacked social contact after about three weeks of insanity. Thus, one day of the program became a running day, ie five days of insanity and a day of running and a day off. I could have jogged on my day off, but I'm not that crazy about sports. In addition, I was tired almost every day, the program took its toll and the day off was literally longed for by my body.
Staying with my body: the many jumps out of squats - the squad position - as well as a few more exercises were not very comfortable for my knees. When I was driving at a very high pace, I had pain in my knees after the end of each exercise session. I have no previous illness, the burden was just too high. So I had to reduce the tempo and came in some exercises not to the repetition of my 'Vortänzer' in the videos. In the other exercises and in total, the recorded fitness tests show a clear increase in the number of repetitions.
The initial fear that the program would quickly get boring did not materialize. Although the individual DVDs often repeated, but this was the clean execution of the respective exercises benefit. As described in Part 1, I had to control myself while following the instructions from the TV. Therefore, it was necessary in the first few weeks that I rewound and looked at some exercises again, which of course led to my pulse sinking again and thus ran contrary to the training goal.
Overall, the Insanity Workout was a success. However, I would not do it again in full. In sports, I like to have other people around me, moreover, in my opinion, the program pays too little attention to the preservation of joints or intervertebral discs. Despite the foam mat, the jumps for the knees and back were a big burden. Furthermore, I do not want to do sports every day, even if only for one hour. The 60 days was an experiment and without the public pressure of the blog I would have thrown the shotgun before and would have gone to the indoor hockey again. Nevertheless I would like to train live with Shaun T. His style appealed to me and his cheering while performing the exercises spurred me on, without annoying.

What is INSANITY MAX:30?

INSANITY MAX:30 is the challenging new 30-minute, in-home workout program from Shaun T, creator of INSANITY and Focus T25. Shaun T has developed 150 new cardio and strength moves that will make you push harder and dig deeper than ever before to get the best body of your life in just 60 days.

INSANITY MAX:30 will be the hardest 30 minutes of the day and you need to be ready to MAX OUT. It’s not about “getting through” all 30 minutes, it’s about going as hard as possible, for as long as possible, until becoming “MAXED OUT” (i.e. until taking the first rest and/or breaking proper form). No equipment needed… just push to the MAX for INSANE results in just 60 days.

With INSANITY, Shaun T gave you a year’s worth of results in only 60 days. And now, 5 years later, it’s time for INSANITY MAX:30— the hardest 30 minutes of your life. There’s no equipment needed; just push to your MAX and get insane results in 30 minutes a day.

In INSANITY MAX:30, the only thing standing between you and the body you want . . . is YOU. Every day you’ll push a little harder, go a little longer, and dig a little deeper. It’s not about finishing the workout—it’s about seeing how far you’ll go before you MAX OUT.

One more minute. One more rep. One step closer to the body you want. INSANITY MAX:30.
